Guy Earle "Trial" - Part 8
I attended the closing oral arguments this afternoon and will post something at Covenant Zone over the weekend. It was largely Ms. Cousineau counsel for Lorna Pardy going through her legal and factual arguments for 1.5 to 2 hours, and Sam Ismail for Zesty's spoke for about ten minutes in a disorganized manner. Sam had started the afternnoon asking for more time and the Tribunal gave him another week to hand in his written arguments and then Pardy's new lawyer (since Cousineau is going on maternity leave) will have a week to reply. And then who knows when the decision will come. Tribunal entertained arguments on the question of jurisdiction but Cousineau basically argued it is not for the Tribunal to make constitutional rulings and so that should just be left for any appeal to the BC Supreme Court. More later, when I unpack Cousineau's legal arguments...
