The film was distributed uncredited to newsreel companies, which supplied their own narration. One report says that it so enraged Josef Goebbels that he ran from the screening room kicking chairs and screaming profanities.

But something like that surely happened every week.

This was the best the British could do for propaganda? Nothing really clever here, although I suppose that this kind of film editing was a novelty in 1939. Pretty insipid in retrospect.

Here is the height of British WWII propaganda, IMHO. The acting is superb; could not be matched today.
