Only Democrats are Smart and Moral. They say so.

My own conspiracy theory is that the Washington Post has withheld every intelligent comment by a Democrat from its paper recently and only allowed the lumpen of the Democratic Party to comment there. Here's a selection of the many, perhaps hundreds, up at this moment, more coming in as we write:

I can't digest Sarah Palin. Not for her parenting, not for her teen daughter getting pregnant (why should anyone care?)but for lack of moral values.

She brings out a child that she knew has down syndrome before birth. That boy IS GOING TO SUFFER HIS ENTIRE LIFE AS A RETARD. WHAT KIND OF MOTHER WOULD DO THAT? and she is pro-life to the extent that she opposes obortion even in the case of RAPE AND INCEST.

The Palins are just too conservative and have UNETHICAL MORAL VALUES. and She wants to be a Vice-President?? THE MEDIA SHOULD RECOGNIZE AND RAISE THIS POINT.

Glad she had the retarded kid. I'll bet if her son was gay she would have aborted.

Stupid housewife... typical white woman...

This woman Palin is a very sick, sick, sick person. Having a daughter sleeping around - we know where she got her genes from. Sick woman ! OBAMA 08 !

McCain doesn't use his brain for serious decisions. This is not bad since he doesn't have much of a brain. He is an impulsive stubborn character who puts his own interest first. That is why he dumped his first wife and netted a wealthy trophy wife.

A guy like McCain could easily create more troubles than Bush. We are the ones who should use our brains for our decisions... in November.

You all think this pregnancy thing is a big deal just wait until Palin's nude modeling photos get released on the internet. ;)

Bristol Palin's pregnancy IS the issue, because I strongly suspect it's a red herring. I think the "news" is being floated to make it appear impossible that the baby allegedly born to Sarah was in fact her daughter's, as has been suggested elsewhere. They are admitting to a "lesser offense," thereby avoiding charges of cover-up and statutory rape. I would wager that Bristol will not go to full term, because that would concretely establish the time line of the pregnancy - in other words, I doubt very much that she is as much as 5 months pregnant.

That should give us all a good idea of what the Democrats are all about. If not, there are hundreds of similar comments at the Washington Post at the link, damned near every one of them along the lines as above. Julien Benda wrote about our intelligentsia close to 100 years ago, and nothing has changed; it's not even worse. There's just more access to the public eye for them now:

Julien Benda, Treason of the Intellectuals.

"Only Democrats are Smart and Moral."

Obama came across smart and moral when asked by the press about the Bristol Palin teenage pregnancy. He told the press to "back off", that this should never have been a political issue, that candidates' families should be out of bounds, particularly their children.

Of course, Obama doesn't want the press looking too closely at his own family, like the polygomous Muslim father and the half brother who Obama claims to care about but leaves living on $12 a year in Kenya in a hut the size of a toilet cubicle.

Regardless of his motives for telling the press to back off the preggers Palin, though, Obama scored major political points for his response. Last night on Coast to Coast radio, which has an audience of up to 10 million, host George Noori (who says he doesn't vote so that he can remain a neutral talk show host) praised Obama for his response to the pregnancy and quoted his words to the press.

To be honest, I thought Obama handled the Palin teenage pregnancy in the classiest way possible. If the press turns the Bristol pregnancy into a side show, it could put that teenager under a lot of stress and when a pregnant woman is dousing a fetus with stress hormones, the fetus can be harmed in subtle biochemical ways.

"obortion"?

I refuse to follow the link to find out whether that is Dag's or the WP commenter's typo. I don't want to be disappointed by the punster!

"Obortion" is not one of mine. It's an orphan. Yes, the parent created a "retard" that will be a retard all its life. No, not even a couple of weeks off during summer vacation when it won't be a retard. Imagine!

What? Did God create rocks just so these people would have something to crawl out from under?
